Caught between her Romanian roots and French upbringing, Ema (33) finds herself unable to truly connect in a romantic relationship. In a quest to understand her emotional detachment, she starts a documentary project of her family’s unraveling past. As Ema travels through her mother’s and grandmother’s stories, she reveals the deep-seated transgenerational trauma that has fueled her pattern of running away. This exploration allows Ema to break free from her family’s history of exile, ultimately embracing her emotions and opening herself to true intimacy.
