deFilm is a Bucharest-based production company founded in 2009 by Radu Stancu. We began our journey by producing independent shorts that quickly gained international recognition. Over time we’ve grown into a dynamic company with a diverse portfolio, an expanding worldwide network of creative partners, and strong financing resources. We work across all types of cinematic productions, embracing bold voices, diverse styles, and creative challenges that align with our values. Our approach is rooted in collaboration — we thrive on building lasting relationships with filmmakers and helping their visions take shape. Our films have earned accolades at top-tier festivals including Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Locarno, IDFA. Alongside our own productions, we partner with select collaborators to provide full production services for projects of every scale and style. As key members of the Romanian Alliance of Film Producers (APF), we are actively involved in shaping national film industry policy and in fostering international collaboration. For us, cinema is both an art and a long-term commitment — and we’re here to make it happen.
